Parker for groceries

Drove to Parker to get groceries as they only have small stores here. Also wanted to get our prescriptions moved down here for the winter.

The traffic was all coming this way, motor home after motor home, trailer, campers etc.  I wish I could have got a picture of one guy on his motorcycle. He had a three wheeled motorcycle and he built like a little camper on the back open to the front seat. No windows just open where the air could go through but I am sure it protected him from rain at night. Maybe he had curtains to pull down at night. It came out over his head to keep him dry during the day and he was dressed in full leathers and I mean full including a face mask.

It amazes me how many people come down in cars filled with people and camping gear tied on the the back including their sleeping bags. I know how wet sleeping bags suck. They don't even have a tarp over them, just tied on the trunk of the car.

The great big fancy motor homes and right next door is a hippie camp.  In one of the camp grounds just south of us they say if you go clear back to the end there is a nudist camp.

One of the housing areas here is called Rainbow Acres. I love it, it is the same way as the camp ground, fancy Beaver coaches with 4 slides with kool covers over the top of them right next to little beat up camp trailers, next to fancy adobe homes, next to campers but they all have one thing in common. The beautiful fancy rainbow brick fence with iron works around their area. if I get back out there I will get a picture. I had to take mom out just cause it was so unusual. Some of the biggest and prettiest homes I have seen are there along with the campers. most housing down here is double wides. Well except for the snowbirds, they are really moving in but everyone says there isn't near as many as there was before the economic downfall. We find that once we got here if we are careful it doesn't cost us as much as at home but we are being really thrift except for the jeep, maybe because of the jeep...lol  Our biggest expense so far is gas, gas to get down here and gas for the jeep to run around all day. It is going to mainly set today as I have to put that bike rack together though I do have to go order my tow brackets and make the appointment to have it put on. I have been stalling because I hate to pay money and it is lots of money. Going to cost at least 1,000.00  I did not realize it would be so much if I already had the tow bar. Of well we still think in the long run it was the thing to do and are still glad we did it.  So nice to run to Parker, always afraid the little pu would not make the trip and like I said, no one to call if you don't.

have a great day everyone
