Zumba

What a day. Zumba is fun but oh my gosh it is hard. I don’t usually sweat much but something about that class makes me look like I am standing in the shower. I was afraid I could not go long but I made it through the class.  We were dancing away and the instructor says now hold butt and your stomach in as hard as you can and hold it. We kept holding it and finally someone said “I have to breathe”. She said you keep breathing while you hold it in. WRONG!  When you are out of shape you either hold it in or you breathe but you don’t do both at once…lol

The ladies there were real nice and friendly and ranged from young to us older baby boomers.

The instructor is blind no less and as nice as can be. She has a great sense of humor and she said if she started forward you had better be moving…  She is training a guide dog, she does that besides teach dancing. She is from New York and her other half is from Oregon but they live her full time now.  You would never know she was blind if she did not tell you. I know when I was talking to  her to sign in I thought she might be blind in one eye but did not realize she was blind in both.  She is just great and so encouraging. She sent me an email that they have classes down at Brenda too so I want to start going 3 days a week, we will see, hard to get everything in I want to do.

Went to Parker yesterday to fill subscriptions and I have never seen so many electric carts in a store. It was packed and I mean packed and I bet 100 people were running around in electric carts. The pharmacy was like 2 hrs behind when they had told everyone their pills would be done. I met some nice people waiting in line. I think they need to put a magazine rack near the benches where you can read.

I have met so many friendly nice people down here, it is almost like stepping back in time, people are courteous, pleasant, friendly, they actually wave when you see them driving down the street. I guess it is because so many of us are baby boomers or beyond when people treated each other nice and helped each other out. I find it very refreshing. I love not having to listen to foul language everywhere I go or people being rude because the druggist is behind instead of visiting and joking and having fun waiting. They make you feel like everyone is friends. It makes it really fun to go do things even if you don’t know anyone, you will in a few minutes after arriving.

Even the teens I have met here don’t have pants clear down to their knees where I have to watch their underpants. I have not had to look at butt cracks since I arrived either. How refreshing. Nice for us older folks to live in a area where we fit in.

My friends from Madras have arrived but they are off today for Palm Springs until Tuesday.  I got an email yesterday another friend from Madras will be here the 22nd in Quartzsite so I am really excited. He doesn’t live in Madras anymore and I have not seen him for a couple of years so I am really excited.

I got my paperwork all copied and sent in so I got to put the Oregon plates on my Jeep. Might seem like a little thing to most but I am so excited about it. I am proud to be from Oregon and I want people to know it. Okay that is true but it is even nicer to have people know I am a tourist not just being a person from Arizona when I pull over to take pictures, or get lost etc.  It gives me an excuse where they don’t think I am crazy.

In some ways I am having a blast and in others I just want to go home. I so wish I had a fenced in yard here for the dogs. I miss my friends and family. I miss my horses and I miss my house and I am getting where I miss my TV. I might just have to have it fixed. I think I miss the TV because I am going so much I am tired and sore and just want to lay around in the evening so maybe I had better not fix the TV…lol

Have a great day everyone, be safe and healthy
