Pokeno

Went and played pokeno last night with RaeEllen and found that I am not good at that game. You play with pennies and we lost a lot of pennies. It was fun though but I think we are better off going to Elvis and clapping and yelling, we are better at that.

Went into Quartzsite yesterday to an art show.  It was a small one at the center but it was fun. You were suppose to vote on your top 3 pictures. I did not vote for any of the ones mom picked.  Mom got invited to join an art club at Hope just 6 miles down the road on Tuesdays. I think she is going to try it out for a couple of weeks and see if she enjoys going. They will help her to know how to set up and sell her paintings.  The paintings down here are pretty cheap and lots of artists around.  The new trend is to paint real small pictures. They say in today's economy people can afford to buy the small ones and it also lets them buy more because they can make a grouping on a wall instead of just one picture. Guess we need to get mom some small canvases.

Went and saw our friends we made in Quartzsite for a few minutes. The dogs got all excited as soon as we pulled into the campground. They were glad to see old Jake and had to go mark everything they could find. We did not stay long as mom was getting tired. We even actually went out for a hamburger. Salome does have one small cafe but nothing else.  Saves on the budget when you can't stop and get a hamburger..lol

My friends washer died and can't be fixed so they are going to have to get a new one. I need to get some work done on the motorhome and one of my new friends gave me a name of a guy that works on motorhomes here and he is certified and guaranteed so guess I will call him Monday.  I need to find a Barnes and Noble store (good luck) where I can get a scratch cover and a book cover for my nook. I am not having any luck finding one yet. I am going to run it on the computer today and see where the closest one is. I think Phoenix which is 100 miles away, can't drive that far.  Maybe I can UPS one to my location. Another thing to check into,.

My daughter called and gave me my bills from home last night, whoopee I get to pay bills today too. Sure is funny to see the light bill so low. Water is always at a minimum during winter for us but our light bill since we have electric heat is really low. Our house is very well insulated, pumice block plus dad put up 2x4 and insulation inside so the walls are about 13" thick and heating is very low cost.  Summer is the same, AC is low and house stays cool for days but once it gets hot it stays hot for days..lol

Well I am going to get off from here and go have fun paying bills. In a way it is fun as they are so much lower then normal...lol   Have a great day everyone and be safe
