Busy day tomorrow
Tomorrow will be busy day for us so we are off again in the jeep to the wilderness area to play again today. Hope to get some good pictures and have a blast like we did yesterday. After two days of playing it is going to be hard to buckle down and get some work done tomorrow, got to clean, go see about a booth, call my insurance, get DMV stuff done, groom dogs etc etc. Not going to be much news then...lol
It was the coldest it has been since we got to Arizona last night. I think mom has got so used to Central Oregon weather that she slept like a log. The sun came up and she did not get up. The sun got brighter, she did not get up. Hank and Paco are tried of waiting and I am getting worried about her. I go back to check her and get the dogs to go outside and she is fine just sleeping really good and had just sat up on the side of her bed when I went back there. Dogs could not wait any longer or I think she would have slept until noon. So nice to be relaxed..
Well we are off, hopefully little Paco will be better 4x4 doggie today, he sure went flying yesterday when mom was holding him on the first big bump. Then he hung on for dear life and so did she.....lol

Jeeps first day
Our little blue pickup would just not go the places we wanted to go. We traded it in at Jerry Green Jeep in Blythe California. They gave us a good trade in on Little Blue and now we are the owners of a jeep my mom has christened "Cow Patty"
It was so nice to take her places she could never go without the jeep. When you get elderly it is so easy to just say "I can't do that anymore", well now we can. I am so impressed with the way the jeep did today. We put on 85 miles and it crawls right up the hills and ruts just in two wheel. We can go to all the places we have been wanting to go. The one day I took mom she was nervous that Little Blue was not going to get up a hill etc. So much fun to watch her enjoy the day sightseeing. It rides so much smoother then the pickup and is so much more comfortable to ride in for her. We were in rough terrain all day and her hip is not even bothering here. The dogs love be surrounded by all windows. They act like we have had it forever. Let them out and they run around a few minutes and head for the jeep.
The green of the jeep is also in one of the stripes on our motor home. Now I have to buy bike rack. I was feeling guilty about buying it but not after watching mom enjoy the day. Worth every penny. We have not had to put any cash out yet, they took Little Blue has a trade in and the first payment is due in January.
Jessie & Justin at the car lot were the nicest people I have ever dealt with at any car lot. They go out of the way to help you in any way they can. We just stopped to look at the jeep and to see how much room was in the back when you folded the seats up for luggage and dogs. Our Little Blue was still loaded with dog crates, and everything else. When we decided to get the jeep I told them I would bring the pickup back tomorrow after I cleaned it. They said they would help. They took the pickup in to take off the tow bar where I could put it on the jeep and loaded everything out of the back of the pickup into the jeep and came back with a big grin. They said they would have done the front but sometimes people get upset because of personal stuff. I told them that was ok I appreciated the help and that I could do the front but we had nothing personal in there. He said it would be done in a little bit and I could do the front. Well in a little bit the front was done too, I didn't have to do anything but go back today to finish signing papers and get our camping permit off the window. What a nice group of people.
If you need a car and are near Blythe, Ca look them up. They have 3 different lots. Jeeps, dodges, chrysler, buick, ford, you name it one of the lots sells it. Just a great place to do business. Now I know why they advertise personal service is their motto.
So very tickled to have a dependable vehicle and one that can take us anywhere we have nerve to go...lol Anyway that is why I was so busy, had to go get that permit off the window before they threw it away and then just wanted to go play.

Another cloudy day but 13 degrees in our home town
Yesterday the wind blew and blew, it was suppose to be 45 mph gusts. We lucked out our motor home was parked at just the right angle that we did not have any troubles. It was parked where it blocked the wind from our bikes etc. too. Usually when the wind blows that hard we have to put slides in. Otherwise the wind rips our awning covers over the slides.
It finally let up a quite a bit and we went and dumped. It is suppose to get down into the low 30’s this week but not quite freezing. I thought it was a good day to load up on gas for generator, propane for heater and water where we don’t have to go out in it. We should be set for a week at least.
It really wasn’t that cold even with a slight drizzle, in fact quite nice to go for a walk in. My little dog Paco can keep up with Hank and out do the little spaniels of moms. Poor Freckles wants to do his thing then immediately go back to the motor-home. We have to literally drag him around. Good exercise for me. Then when we are tired and turn around he drags us all the way back. He is not an outdoor dog.
We talked to several people about setting up a booth for mom in January. Would you believe one of them is 900 a month to park your RV and sell with just electric and water, you still have to go dump which costs $15. The other one is $180 a month for a 16 by 26 booth. We don’t have a lot of pictures with us so we don’t know if it is worth it as we can’t fill a 16 b6 26. Might just rent an RV space and sell beside the RV. We have until Dec 31 to get our application in.
We are having some problems with our little pickup now. The clutch is going out and it has developed some other noises but just don’t’ know if I want to put out the money for another rig. Wish I was home where I could just take it to Cliff’s Repair and have him decide if it was worth fixing. It is 25 years old. I don’t trust mechanics as they have tried to many times to get me to buy something that I don’t need. Growing up on a farm I am not totally stupid.
I had a girlfriend that they talked into paying $10.00 a tire to change the air in her tires as it was getting old enough it was starting to rot her tires. $40.00 in the sixties was a lot of money. I wish I would have known about it at the time because that mechanic would have been looking for a new job.
Another one sold a friend of mine a battery because her car would not start 4 days in a row. She finally called me because she could not afford to buy another battery and wanted me to come jump her. They told her something was wrong with her engine and it was ruining the battery. All she needed was the battery cables cleaned. That mechanic was looking for a new job and the owner of the shop put on new battery cables and gave her a new battery free of charge.
Once when the noticed my out of state plates when I was getting gas, he checked the oil and asked where I was headed. I told him Coos Bay and he said. Oh I was hoping it was closer because you will never make it to Coos Bay with that air filter. I had just changed the air filter a month before that. I told him that I could take the air filter out and wrap it around his neck and still make it to Coos Bay with no filter. Again I contacted the owner and he got fired. They usually pocket the money and the owner doesn’t even know it happens so they steal from us and from the owner.
With the history of women from out of town I so worry about having to get any work done on my vehicle. I guess I could tell them that my pickup was making noises and let them drive it and check it and see who comes up with it needing a clutch and who says something different and choose the guy that was honest and said I needed a clutch. Then I might ask him if it was worth fixing…lol
Today is going to be another lazy day, overcast, slight drizzle once in a while and about 60 degrees. Great day for walking though and we are going to go again before to long but I think we will leave Freckles with mom.
Have a great day everyone.

Windy night and day
High wind warnings issued and they were right. It blew all night. Gusts up to 45 mph. This ole motor home makes all kinds of noise in this wind, so much for sleeping. I am surprised at how well it did as far as rocking around. I was afraid I was going to have to put the slides in but it is hitting just at the perfect angle and they aren't even blowing bad.
I about froze my ....off taking the dogs potty this morning, oh how I missed my fenced yard. you can't let them out here. They are suppose to be on a lease but the main problem is the coyotes will eat them. I have been warned by several people not to even let them go out first as some coyotes will lay under the motor home and just wait. My little one would be one bite and he would be gone. They even have it in the papers and fliers to watch for the coyotes. The coyotes I have seen are smaller then Hank but bigger then the other 3. They say herding dogs usually do ok. My sister in law lost her little dog to a coyote last year. The bigger dog tried to help him but it was to late and she was with him. He was not on a leash but he was walking near her. I am very careful as I sure don't want to lose one of my dogs, you get to really love those little buggers.
Hope I have lots of time on my air card because today is a computer day. Read books day.
Did not take one single picture yesterday. We went downtown and talked to a lady that has a little tent art gallery set up about how we went about selling paintings. Not as easy as we thought when we came down here. We are looking at getting our permits etc. but have to find a place. You can't sell anything on public lands. They have pretty well tied it up where you have to go to the show grounds and pay for a booth of some kind.
Pickup is giving us some problems too so we have to figure out what to do about that or hope that it holds up until we get home or trade it off or try and get it fixed....grrrrr I hate having work done on a vehicle when I am not home. The see out of state plate, woman and they think....oh yeah money making time. I have got into so many fights with mechanics that try to tell me I need something I don't. Remember I am a farm girl and not stupid but somethings like clutches etc I don't know enough about. I have worked on many assisting my dad but that was a lot of years ago. Decisions, decisions! I guess I could take it to a mechanic and tell them it is making a strange noise and see what they say it is and if I find one that tells me it is the clutch I will know he is honest....lol
